New Year

We hadn't posted in a while (we prefer writing in a physical journal these days)....But I wanted to let everyone know that we are doing well. Christmas and New Years were both wonderful and made us really miss our families. We spent time with both our families leading up to Christmas, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, spent the following weekend with Mike and Lindsay, and then went to Cincinnati last weekend to visit Steph's grandma because she'd been sick over Christmas....But back to the grind we go. Steph's schoolwork is heavy right now, but she's handling it well. Marc is taking a JTerm Intro to Philosophy class next week and hurredly trying to get all his reading done when he's not sleeping or working.
This weekend is going to be a lot of fun. 24 starts of course (see Mike and Lindsay's blog for some hilarious quotes about Jack Bauer), which is our favorite show! The Colts continue their run to the Super Bowl, and we are going to Winter Jam here in Louisvile, where we'll get to see Jeremy Camp, Sanctus Real, and Steven Curtis Chapman--some of our favorites.
We both have been reading through 1 Corinthians recently and have found some great encouragement from Paul's words, even though sometimes he's a confusing guy--even Peter thought so! But in that letter he advises to keep evangelism simple, focusing on the cross of Christ and letting God do the growing instead of trusting our own ability to persuade. He cuts at the pride of the Corinthians repeatedly, and thus at us too. And he calls for the married to live with their devotion toward Him and not just to the hassles and squabbles of marriage and daily living. This is a particular challenge to us as we are always tempted to put school and work and each other as our top priorities....We look forward to continuing through this letter.
God bless you all and may you have a happy new year.
Here is our niece in her Christmas outfit. Isn't she cute?
