Updates

Life is good. I have a shirt that says that and wear it often, but it's so easy to forget! God works all things together for good for those who love him, but that doesn't mean life is always easy. Marc and I are both doing well. The last few weeks we've had a great time with friends and family. First, we celebrated Grandma and Grandpa Goodwin's 50th anniversary. It was a blast, and it was a blessing to see their committment after so long. It was so neat to see the fruit of their union...such a big family! It made us look forward to starting our own, Lord willing. We both are ready, but we know we need to wait until we know where we're headed next year regarding Marc's job. I've been studying women of the Bible. If Sarah could wait til she's an elderly woman, I can wait a few years. =) The faith of Sarah has taught me a lot.
Marc and I then traveled to Cincinnati to my cousing Josh's wedding. It was a great time with family. We ate breakfast with uncle Danny and grandma the next day and had a great conversation about faith and family. We talked about things we never had before. It's been so neat to get to know both of them better over the years. I am convinced that we have a great bond due to our relationships with Christ. I love them so much!
Next week Marc has the week off. I have next Friday through Tuesday without kids, but of course I have do still do work at the school. =) Needless to say, it'll be nice to catch up. On Friday Marc, me, Rachel, Matt, Aubrey, and grandma are headed to Monticello, KY. Some of you might know that that is where my grandpa grew up. We spent our childhood visiting his farmhouse. Unfortunately, it was arsoned a few years back. It was, and still is, hard for us to accept, especially since it was arsoned before a while back. It's my understanding that the man who did it served no punishment. It'll be our first time seeing the land without the house, but it'll be a nice time to reminisce.

Finally, Marc and I randomly decided late last night to rearrange our apartment. =) We'll talk pictures soon. I like it, but it's harder to make stuff look right on the walls. I had trouble picturing where to hang things. Anyhoo....have a good week!

Buble and Wet Jet

My new favorite things...bought with birthday money last night. =) Marc and I had a fun night at Walmart...we like the simple pleasures. =) Marc and I made up this song in the car...sung to the tune of "The B-I-B-L-E."

B-U-B-L-E, yes he's the man for me.
He sings a song
and he can't go wrong.
B-U-B-L-E.

Michael Buble is AWESOME. He's very jazzy and Frank Sinatra sounding. I look forward to getting many more CDs. And the Wet Jet....a dream come true! Finally, a clean floor! No more getting on my hands and knees and scrubbing with a wet wipe. =) Have a happy weekend!

Back to School

We both started school August 13th. I was blessed with another AWESOME class and am working with a great team of teachers in 4th grade. It's overwelming having 30 kids instead of 24, but I'm doing alright. I've been praying a lot about what God would have me do next year when Marc's done with school. I like teaching, but it is overwelming most days. I know God has gifted me in that area, but I don't foresee me being able to give what I need to to my family while doing such a time-consuming job. He knows what's in store for me, so I am not worried, just excited to receive some clarity. :) I have to tell you all what one of my kids said the other day:

We've been reading about the toy recalls in Time for Kids in class and, of course, they were all wigging out because all their toys were made in China. So I had to explain it to them...how it was recent toys that might have contained lead paint. Well, one of my little boys shouted out the window of the bus at the end of the day, "Mrs. Goodwin! This pencil I got from the prize basket is made of lead!"

Marc's classes are going well. He especially loves Greek, as hard as it is. He's so cute when he gets all excited and wants to show me stuff. :) He's getting to preach for the whole month at Grace, and he really taught us all a lot today. It's such a blessing to learn from your husband!

We enjoyed a great day today with Bob and Diana, and we got to see my parents last weekend at a Red's game. We miss our siblings, though! :) It is nice to be somewhat close, and we'll see them soon when we go to Indianapolis in September.

In addition to all of that, we love babies! Our good friends Drew and Ashley just had a baby boy, and both Aubrey and Ruby are just precious and healthy. We can't wait to have some of our own! Hope everyone is doing well!
